In an October 2026 analysis from Investment Migration Insider, the leading trade publication for the citizenship and residency industry, Daniel Atz was quoted as an expert on citizenship by descent outside Europe. The article, titled “Citizenship by Descent Beyond Europe: Latin America, Armenia, and the Asian Routes”, surveys the ancestry routes open to people with roots in Latin America, Armenia, Canada, Jamaica and Asia.
Daniel explains why Europe’s ancestry rules reach so much further back than the rest of the world’s:
“Europe’s unusually extensive descent rules partly reflect generations of mass emigration and long-established legal relationships with diasporas,” says Daniel Atz.
He also walks the reader through the programs he follows most closely, from Mexico’s reform to Canada’s new rules, which he calls “the standout in 2026, particularly from a US perspective.” The piece reflects the wider scope of Daniel’s work today through Citizenship.EU, advising on ancestry citizenship well beyond Luxembourg.
